Day 5 -6 Mopelia to Samoa

134.8 nm and 127 nm respectively with very easy sail, except that we lost the wind at 2am this morning down to 4 knots so we had to motor for a while. We saw a dorsal of a big fish this morning, except this nothing special to report all well on board.

Day 4 Mopelia Samoa

Four day was pleasant as the wind didn’t change since the last report. We achieved 142.8nm with just the main sail, getting our track oriented more toward he North. The sea state doesn’t let the Genoa fly in a dignified manner and even got us to Gybe a couple of time. At night we got two […]

Day 3 Mopelia Samoa

Third day was pleasant as the wind diminished as soon as we did the last report. We achieved 149.3nm with just the main sail, getting our track oriented more toward he North. The sea state doesn’t let the Genoa fly in a dignified manner and even got us to Gybe a couple of time. At night […]

Day 2 Mopelia Samoa

Achieved a superb second day with 180.6nm in 15-20 knots wind. Not the record for Letitgo(182 knots in the middle of the Pacific)but in a rather comfortable ride in a 2-3 meters sea. We seen nothing, we heard nothing, not even a fish on the line, so just letting you know that all is well […]

Day 1 Mopelia – American Samoa

All was according to plan so we prepared Letitgo for a little 1000nm passage, meaning we remove the engine from the […]

News from the end of the world

We are witnessing some amazing sites in the atoll of Mopelia though for the next few posts, it will be just text via Ham Radio no photos yet! We are literally in the middle of nowhere and will then be traveling 1000 nm to Samoa where we will be next in “civilization”. Mopelia is a […]

Bye Bye Bora

Last time around we wanted to go up and have a panoramic view, but nobody was willing to give us a hint of the way. This time around, we were hosted by our boat yard neighbours friends and what a beautiful day we had. We went up one of the side pick and had the […]

Farewell tour

Our lives have been really full in the past two weeks and that is why blogposts have been scarce so we apologize for that. We have kept busy as we re-connected with the friends we had crossed path within the previous year, many stories to share good laughs and late nights, some recounting of great […]
