Plumbing issue, another handy lesson in self sufficient.

I created a problem, so I had to fix it. The logic is admirable, but knowing my ability in handy work, the result is another story.

It all started when I decided that putting a dead bouquet of flower through the garburator was a grand idea!… Result : clogged double kitchen sink, linked to the full dishwasher. Yes I could have avoided the situation, but I am still young and need to learn things through experimentation in life. Evidently thisĀ happenedĀ during a week-end! And you can easily picture a chorus of onlookers, giggling at my predicament, or just smoothly leaving the room and all of a sudden simply ignoring me.

My first trial of liquid chemical we had at home, did has much has a $100 bill on a boat project it didn’t go far. So first trip to Home Depot, where I decided that a 20ft snake will be a wise investment, we will need it one day on the boat I proclaim. Knowing the limit of my ability I also got a bottle of the super duper professional liquid plumber.

Back home I tried the magic product with has much result had the first one. Coming to the realization that was not going to make it, I let loose the snake and started my expedition.

After two trials, I declared loudly. If it was a boat I would not need 20 FT of snake, the seacock would be a lot closer to the problem. Let’s hope so.

So far I was only able to have brought back some nicely compacted plant fiber from far away and broke the siphon under the sink after over tightening it. Second trip to home depot for some parts to repair that mistake, you are starting to see a pattern developing. Like any good boat project it takes three times the amount of time and money.

I also discovered boat yoga, trying to work the cheap snake from the inside of an under sink cupboard after eating too much Dim-sum was not the best idea. Trying to cut a pipe with no space and a hand saw was just not my sense of fun. So one more tool on my list to buy, a Dermel is coming my way for sure in the next few weeks.

After a third visit to the big box store, thank you sweet heart. I was done, it’s not leaking anymore and it’s unplug.

Now let’s try this on a moving platform, in the tropic, with no HD next door and with an emergency pending. That when the training will be paying off, I am telling you.
